The `F.Angeloni' Institute is located in a city of small dimension, with a long historical past The urban area occupies the southern part of the Umbria and has, during the period of industrial revolution represented a national pole of the great iron and chemistry industry. Unfortunately, today, because of the problems of the iron industry in the context of the international globalisation, Terni is crossed from a crisis that makes all the area exposed to phenomena of occupational decrement. Very engaged in the search of an alternative economic development, the city lives an identity crisis waiting for the birth of a new model of development, that, nevertheless, finds it hard to emerge. The city now is depressed area, receives incentives , typical of the industrial areas in crisis, that are addressed towards the tourism, and the filmic production ( ‘ La vita è bella ‘ Oscar movie by Roberto Benigni was produced in Terni ). Also in the technical literature, `the Terni case' is a metaphor of one socio-economic-cultural situation typical of the crisis and the search of new anthropological identity, beyond that social and economic. The ‘Magistrale’ Institutes, in the Italian scholastic system, are a typeof school privileged as for the teachers forming. Because the development of the Italian Educational System , the Angeloni Institution evolved its organisation, maintaining however the original vocation towards the formation of the future teacher and developing in the direction of Courses like : Psyco-Pedagogic Liceum, Linguistic Liceum, Social Science Liceum, maturing a long European experience, with the `mission' focused on the Comenius partnership, carefully attentive to the teachers training processes. The school is in fact training Centre for Postgraduate students of the Perugia University attending university Courses post lauream oriented toward the initial teachers training in all different subjects. In the school are performing Lectures Mentores for the training of the future teachers, who are placed in care of the internal tutores.The Institute “F.Angeloni”, a school with a strong pedagogical vocation, confirmed by the carrying out of the SSIS Practicum for initial teachers , is also a centre DEURE and strongly engaged in the planning of the European projects.
